Chief Bonath served with the university for about 10 years. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Texas Tech President Lawrence Schovanec announced the chief\u2019s retirement in a memo to university staff.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">President Schovanec says he\u2019s grateful for Chief Bonath\u2019s service and his focus on student and campus safety. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Assistant Chief Amy Ivey will now serve as interim chief while the university searches for a full-time candidate. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Chief Bonath\u2019s retirement starts January 31.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 KCBD.
