HOUSTON \u2013 Early voting starts Monday, Dec.\u202f1, for the Dec. 13 joint runoff elections in Harris County Clerk\u2019s Office. <\/p>\n

The Harris County Clerk\u2019s Office is encouraging voters to take advantage of the early voting period to help avoid long lines.<\/p>\n

Voters can cast their ballots in person at any vote center in Harris County. <\/p>\n

What\u2019s on the ballot<\/p>\n

A number of races are on the ballot<\/a>, including the at\u2011large seat for Houston City Council Position 4 and a vacancy for a trustee seat at Houston Community College (HCC), among others.<\/p>\n

When and where to vote<\/p>\n

During early voting, at least 30 vote centers will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., except on Sunday, Dec. 7, when hours will be noon to 7 p.m. <\/p>\n

On Election Day, at least 50 vote centers across Harris County will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n

Voters can find their nearest location and view sample ballots at HarrisVotes.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What to bring<\/p>\n

Voters must present one of the following photo IDs:<\/p>\n

Texas Driver\u2019s License<\/p>\n

Texas Personal ID<\/p>\n

Texas Handgun License<\/p>\n

Texas Election ID Certificate<\/p>\n

U.S. Military ID (with photo)<\/p>\n

U.S. Citizenship Certificate (with photo)<\/p>\n

U.S. Passport<\/p>\n

Those without an acceptable ID may complete a Reasonable Impediment Declaration and present a supporting document such as a utility bill, bank statement, or voter registration certificate.<\/p>\n

Voting by mail<\/p>\n

For voters who prefer mail ballots, the deadline to apply is Tuesday, Dec. 2. <\/p>\n

Eligible voters include those 65 and older, individuals with disabilities, people who will be outside their county during the voting period, those expecting to give birth within three weeks of Election Day, and eligible voters in jail.<\/p>\n
