Families and community members will have the chance to share their feedback about potential school closures and consolidations in Corpus Christi ISD<\/a> in December and January.<\/p>\n

The school district announced in November that it will likely close several aging campuses, but before any official decisions are made, the Corpus Christi Independent School District Board of Trustees is looking for feedback from the community.<\/p>\n

Here are some of the options that are being discussed for the 2026-27 school year:<\/p>\n

Closing Fannin Elementary School and rezoning students to Berlanga, Garcia and Hicks elementary schools.<\/p>\n

Closing Kostoryz Elementary School and rezoning students to Dawson, Galvan, Los Encinos and Yeager elementary schools.<\/p>\n

Closing Sanders Elementary School and rezoning students to Dawson, Galvan, Los Encinos and Yeager elementary schools.<\/p>\n

Closing Travis Elementary School and rezoning students to Allen, Houston, Shaw and Zavala elementary schools.<\/p>\n

Closing Browne Middle School and rezoning students to Adkins, Grant and Hamlin middle schools.<\/p>\n

Closing Haas Middle School and rezoning students to Adkins, Grant and Hamlin middle schools.<\/p>\n

Closing Martin Middle School and rezoning students to Cunningham Middle School at South Park and Driscoll Middle School.<\/p>\n

Here’s when community members and families can learn more and share feedback:<\/p>\n

5 p.m. Dec. 4 at Travis Elementary School<\/p>\n

5 p.m. Dec. 9 at Browne Middle School<\/p>\n

5 p.m. Dec. 16 at Fannin Elementary School<\/p>\n

5 p.m. Dec. 18 at Sanders Elementary School<\/p>\n

A virtual meeting at 6 p.m. Jan. 5<\/p>\n

5 p.m. Jan. 6 at Haas Middle School<\/p>\n

5 p.m. Jan. 7 at Kostoryz Elementary School<\/p>\n

5 p.m. Jan. 8 at Martin Middle School<\/p>\n

Details for the virtual meeting on Jan. 6 are still being finalized and will be shared at a later date.<\/p>\n

The district has also shared a list of frequently asked questions online at ccisd.us.<\/a> Community members can also share feedback with the district via text at 361-600-3691 and via email at ccisd.tx@k12-lets-talk.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Reasons for the potential closures include the district’s budget deficit. For several years, costs have been higher than revenues at Corpus Christi ISD. At the same time, the district is facing dropping enrollments, particularly in some areas of town.<\/p>\n
