Lubbock County Commissioner Jason Corley<\/a> has officially entered the race for Texas\u2019 19th Congressional District, announcing his campaign with a pledge to put the priorities of West Texans<\/a> above the influence of political insiders. The announcement, made Monday in Lubbock, sets the stage for what is expected to be one of the most closely watched races in the region.<\/p>\n

A West Texas Native Rooted in Local Industry<\/p>\n

Corley grew up in Woodrow, Texas, and built much of his career in the industries that define the region: oil, agriculture, and small business. After graduating college, he went to work in the oil field–eventually managing crews, overseeing budgets, and handling large-scale operations. Later, he purchased his family farm, where he now raises cotton and continues to work alongside the agricultural community.<\/p>\n

Those experiences, Corley said, shaped the foundation of his campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m honored to have the support of so many friends and neighbors as I step forward to serve the place that built me,\u201d Corley stated. \u201cThis district deserves a representative shaped by West Texas\u2014not by political insiders, influencers, or the lobbying class.\u201d<\/p>\n

Experience in Local Government<\/p>\n

Corley has served as a Lubbock County Commissioner for the past eight years.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know what it takes to make payroll. I know what it means to be responsible for your employees,\u201d Corley said. \u201cGovernment should never make life harder for the people who keep this country running.\u201d<\/p>\n

He emphasized that his congressional campaign will prioritize tangible results over what he called \u201cperformative politics.\u201d<\/p>\n

Corley outlined a platform centered on longstanding West Texas concerns:<\/p>\n

Supporting President Trump\u2019s America First agenda<\/p>\n

Keeping taxes low and promoting government accountability<\/p>\n

Defending agriculture and energy, the backbone industries of West Texas<\/p>\n

Protecting constitutional freedoms and traditional values<\/p>\n

Limiting federal overreach and strengthening local control<\/p>\n

Keeping West Texas and the Big Country at the forefront of federal decisions<\/p>\n

\u201cThis campaign is about the people who get up before sunrise to work in the oil field, farm the land, run small businesses, and raise families,\u201d Corley said.<\/p>\n

As his campaign begins, Corley is asking voters across the 19th District for their support.<\/p>\n
