The announcement, made Monday in Lubbock, sets the stage for what is expected to be one of the most closely watched races in the region.<\/p>\n<p>A West Texas Native Rooted in Local Industry<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"1120\">Corley grew up in Woodrow, Texas, and built much of his career in the industries that define the region: oil, agriculture, and small business. After graduating college, he went to work in the oil field&#8211;eventually managing crews, overseeing budgets, and handling large-scale operations. Later, he purchased his family farm, where he now raises cotton and continues to work alongside the agricultural community.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/etsn.png\" alt=\"East Texas Sports Network logo\"\/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1122\" data-end=\"1192\">Those experiences, Corley said, shaped the foundation of his campaign.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1194\" data-end=\"1453\">\u201cI\u2019m honored to have the support of so many friends and neighbors as I step forward to serve the place that built me,\u201d Corley stated. \u201cThis district deserves a representative shaped by West Texas\u2014not by political insiders, influencers, or the lobbying class.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Experience in Local Government<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1500\" data-end=\"1767\">Corley has served as a Lubbock County Commissioner for the past eight years.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1769\" data-end=\"1969\">\u201cI know what it takes to make payroll.
