Plano defeated Hinckley-Big Rock 68\u201344 behind a balanced offensive attack. Kevin Martinez recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Alan Contreras led the Reapers with 17 points. Cooper Beaty added 13 points, and Ethan Taxis scored 11 in the win.<\/p>\n

Serena fell 42\u201328 to Ottawa despite an 8-point, 5-rebound effort from Anna Hjerpe. Parker Twait added 7 points and 2 rebounds, while Alexa McNally, Brynley Glade and Kendall Whiteaker each scored 4. McNally grabbed 3 rebounds, and Glade and Whiteaker each finished with 4.<\/p>\n
Football \u2013 IHSA State Championships<\/p>\n
Four state championship games in Classes 5A\u20138A were postponed Saturday because of a snowstorm and have now been rescheduled. Class 5A will kick off today at 3 p.m., followed by Class 6A at 6 p.m., both at Illinois State\u2019s Hancock Stadium.<\/p>\n
Class 7A and Class 8A will now be played tomorrow at Northern Illinois University\u2019s Huskie Stadium, with Class 7A at 3 p.m. and Class 8A at 6 p.m. WSPY will broadcast the Class 8A title game featuring No. 11 Oswego and No. 1 Mount Carmel, with coverage beginning at 6 p.m. Sponsors include A All Temp Heating and Cooling, The Nanny and the Mouse Travel, Strictly Carpet and Flooring, Andersen Plumbing\/Heating\/Cooling, Imagination Print and Design, and Hett\u2019s Auto Sales.<\/p>\n

Oswego East placed third in its opening competition of the season Sunday at Oak Forest High School. The Wolves compete next at the Naperville North Invitational this Sunday at 8 a.m.<\/p>\n

The Waubonsee Community College men\u2019s basketball visits Lake Michigan College tonight at 6 p.m. The Chiefs return home Thursday to host College of DuPage, with the women tipping off at 5:30 p.m. and the men at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
