As readers may remember, Henry Cuellar (D-TX) joined five Democrats to vote with the Republicans to end the federal shutdown over healthcare benefits scheduled to end this month.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/el-paso-news-llc.fundjournalism.org\/ephp\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"970\" height=\"250\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/fund_jurnlist_lgad_1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-687\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Citing that \u201cthe Biden Administration weaponized the Justice System,\u201d Donald Trump announced earlier today on social media that he plans to pardon Cuellar and his wife, Imelda, on criminal bribery charges. Writing on social media, Trump wrote that \u201cHenry, I don\u2019t know you, but you can sleep well tonight,\u201d adding \u201cyour nightmare is finally over!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"839\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/cuellar_post.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-799\"  \/>Screen captures of Donald Trump and Henry Cuellar posts on social media, December 3, 2025, Mart\u00edn Paredes\/El Paso Herald Post<\/p>\n<p>According to Trump\u2019s post, Cuellar\u2019s daughters Catherine and Christine Cuellar wrote to Trump asking him to pardon their father. The daughters wrote that they believed \u201cthat our father\u2019s independence and honesty may have contributed\u201d to the criminal case.
