{"id":75887,"date":"2025-12-04T14:33:09","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T14:33:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/75887\/"},"modified":"2025-12-04T14:33:09","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T14:33:09","slug":"council-oks-expansion-of-emergency-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/75887\/","title":{"rendered":"Council OKs expansion of emergency charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Sachse City Council on Monday voted to expand the services from which the city can collect revenue for emergency responses.<\/p>\n<p>The council received a lengthy presentation from Assistant Fire Chief Adam Kroviak, who said the city can develop a \u201cnew revenue stream\u201d by enacting an ordinance that expands billing to include fire calls in addition to medical services. The city can earn an estimated $15,000 to $20,000 more annually by recouping some of the costs associated with fire service calls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can choose which services we can bill for mitigation,\u201d Kroviak said. Council member Lindsay Buehler noted that she doesn\u2019t want to bill residents for services covered under the ordinance, which the council approved unanimously in a 6-0 vote; Councilman Frank Millsap was absent.
