Looks like Christmas came early for Mike Elko and the Texas A&M Aggies<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Star quarterback Marcel Reed<\/a> will return for the 2026 season and forego the NFL draft. He made the announcement on a recent episode of the “Outta Pocket” podcast<\/a> hosted by former Baylor quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m coming back, I\u2019ll be back,\u201d Reed said when asked about next season.<\/p>\n

Reed has led the Aggies to an 11-1 season and a College Football Playoff berth<\/a> in his first full season as the starter. The redshirt sophomore has thrown for 2,932 yards and 25 touchdowns with 10 interceptions this season. He has added another 466 yards and six scores on the ground.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old was named a finalist for the Davey O\u2019Brien Award<\/a> given to the nation\u2019s top quarterback and has even earned some Heisman buzz<\/a> throughout the season.<\/p>\n

Reed\u2019s announcement comes just one day after the No. 7 Aggies found out they\u2019ll be hosting No. 10 Miami at Kyle Field for the first College Football Playoff game in program history. <\/p>\n

Lashlee, along with other coaches like A&M\u2019s Mike Elko and Texas\u2019 Steve Sarkisian, has grown tired of the College Football Playoff comittee and its selection process.<\/p>\n
