AUSTIN, Texas – Gov. Greg Abbott and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick announce that they want Texas to be a leader when it comes to Turning Point USA.<\/p>\n

A partnership with the conservative organization was announced at a news conference from the Governor’s Mansion. Abbott and Patrick were joined by TPUSA Senior Director Josh Thifault.<\/p>\n
Abbott and Patrick say they want every Texas high school campus to have a TPUSA chapter.<\/p>\n
The backstory:<\/p>\n
Turning Point USA was founded by Charlie Kirk. Kirk was a conservative activist who was killed in September at an event at a college campus in Utah.<\/p>\n
The organization’s chapters are predominantly found on college campuses but its Club America chapters operate in high schools.\u00a0<\/p>\n
