HOUSTON \u2013 The trial began Monday morning for Anthony Martin Landry, 57, who is charged with murdering 46-year-old attorney Jeffrey Limmer in a shooting at a McDonald\u2019s along the West Interstate 10 service road in May of 2024.<\/p>\n
What happened<\/p>\n
According to Houston police, the incident happened around 6 p.m. on May 4, 2024 at 8147 Katy Freeway. <\/p>\n
Officers responding to the scene found Limmer unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
Investigators said the fatal confrontation began after a verbal disagreement inside the restaurant. Landry, dissatisfied with his order and seeking a refund, reportedly argued with staff. Limmer, an attorney with Lewis Brisbois law firm, attempted to calm the situation. <\/p>\n
Police said the argument spilled outside, and after Limmer pushed Landry to the ground, Landry retrieved a gun from his vehicle and shot him twice.<\/p>\n
Landry fled the scene in an early 2000s blue Ford pickup truck. He turned himself in to Houston police on May 10 and was booked into the Harris County Jail.<\/p>\n
The trial is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Monday. Further details and updates from the courtroom are expected throughout the day.<\/p>\n
