LUBBOCK \u2013 Texas Tech sophomore Christian Anderson<\/a> has earned his second Big 12 Starting Five honor of the season after leading the Red Raiders to a 24-point win over LSU on Sunday at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. <\/p>\n

Anderson recorded his second double-double of the season, going for 27 points and 10 assists in the win over the Tigers along with adding five rebounds and two steals. He is now averaging 19.1 points and 7.2 assists per game \u2013 ranking second in the conference in assists and sixth in scoring. His assist total against LSU reflects a postgame stat correction that added two assists to the final box score and report. Along with Anderson, this week’s Big 12 Starting Five includes Tounde Yessoufou (Baylor), Kingston Flemings (Houston), Milan Momcilovic (Iowa State) and Parsa Fallah (Oklahoma State). Momcilovic earned Big 12 Player of the Week honors while Yessoufou is the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week. <\/p>\n

An Atlanta, Georgia native, Anderson has scored in double figures in eight of nine games this season and over 20 three times. His 27 points against LSU came with him making 5-of-9 3-pointers for his seventh game this season with three or more in a game. It was also his seventh career game with 20 or more points with his career-high coming in a 34-point, 11-assist performance against Lindenwood in the season-opener. <\/p>\n

Through 44 games played in his career, Anderson now has made 99 3-pointers (39.3 percent) and has 544 points. He earned All-Big 12 Freshman Team honors last season and was an All-Big 12 Preseason Team and Bob Cousy Award Watch List selection coming into this season. For the season, Anderson is 28-for-65 (43.1 percent) from beyond the arc and has six games with seven or more assists. He currently ranks fifth nationally in assists per game and is sixth in the Big 12 with 3.11 made 3-pointers per game. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Anderson and the No. 16-ranked Red Raiders return to the DFW Metroplex this weekend to play Arkansas at 11 a.m. in the American Airlines Center in Dallas. <\/p>\n
