Driver faces intoxication manslaughter charges<\/p>\n

Two people were killed early Friday in a fiery crash on I-10 Katy Freeway near Taylor Street after a Tesla rear-ended another vehicle.<\/p>\n
Houston police say a woman has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.<\/p>\n
The crash happened when a Tesla rear-ended a Nissan at a high rate of speed, causing the Nissan to catch fire. The driver and passenger inside the Nissan were trapped and pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
The Tesla struck barriers on both sides of the freeway before coming to a stop. Its passenger was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition. The Tesla driver remains under investigation and has been charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.<\/p>\n
The Houston Police Department\u2019s Vehicular Crimes Division continues to investigate. All mainlanes of I-10 inbound remain closed while authorities process the scene, and no reopening time has been announced.<\/p>\n
