CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 After two decades on the bench,\u00a094th District Court Judge Bobby Galvan<\/a> will retire in 2026.<\/p>\n Judge Galvan was born and raised in Corpus Christi and his retirement will take him to complete 32 years of service. Judge Galvan thinks back to his memorable moments on the bench.\u00a0<\/p>\n Judge Galvan says, “There have been a lot of memorable moments on the bench. It’s been, it’s been a very rewarding job. I had an individual see me the other day and thanked me. I sent him to drug rehab, and he was mad as a hornet at me. But now he’s turned his life around, and he’s living his best life. Those moments are really what public service is all about, you know?”<\/p>\n Not an easy job to do, Judge Galvan says through his years, him and his team do the best to resolve people’s problems in court. Adding he hopes people have left the courtroom in a better spot than when they got there.<\/p>\n As he gets closer to retirement and his future plans, he adds, “I just want to work till the very end and hopefully make some people’s lives better, make the community safe. I’ve enjoyed this, this time. I’ve enjoyed my time in public service, but it’s time to do something else.”<\/p>\n Judge Galvan says although his retirement in near, you will still see him around. \u00a0“I won’t be in the courthouse. I’m not going anywhere. I’m not retiring to go home.
