Eight Texas football<\/a> players received All-SEC recognition for their efforts during the 2025 season, the league announced Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Defensive end Colin Simmons<\/a>, safety Michael Taaffe<\/a> and left tackle Trevor Goosby<\/a> earned first-team honors. Linebacker Anthony Hill Jr.<\/a>, cornerback Malik Muhammad<\/a>, wide receiver\u00a0Ryan Wingo<\/a> and return man Ryan Niblett<\/a> landed on the second team, while right guard DJ Campbell<\/a> was awarded third-team recognition. The all-conference teams were voted on by the SEC’s coaches.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Simmons recovered from a slow start to the 2025 campaign and delivered on sky-high preseason hype, finishing with 11 sacks and 13\u00bd tackles for loss. The sophomore edge rusher registered 9\u00bd of his sacks against SEC opposition. In his final campaign as a Longhorn, Taaffe was second on the team with 70 tackles despite missing two games with a thumb injury. He also came down with a pair of interceptions, bringing his career total to seven. Goosby spent 2025 protecting Arch Manning<\/a>‘s blind side, limiting opposing edge rushers to 17 pressures on 446 pass-blocking reps.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At linebacker, Hill registered 69 tackles while missing a pair of games with an injury. He also racked up seven tackles for loss\u00a0and four sacks while intercepting two passes. The junior declared for the NFL draft<\/a> on Monday. Muhammad emerged as one of the best cover corners in the SEC. With 30 total tackles and two interceptions, he gave up just 4.9 yards per target.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Wingo exploded in the second half of the season as a dynamic and dangerous target for Manning. The sophomore totaled 770 receiving yards on 50 receptions, finding the end zone seven times, too. Niblett led the SEC and ranked second in the country with a 23.6-yard punt return average, finding the end zone twice, but was edged out by Texas A&M’s KC Concepcion for first-team returner honors.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Campbell was, for much of the season, the one strong point within a struggling interior offensive line for the Longhorns. He allowed 18 quarterback hurries and one sack on the year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
