Families wander slowly through the winding streets taking in some of the most elaborate Christmas displays in North Texas. And this year one home in particular is capturing Plano’s imagination.

At 4641 Penbrook Court visitors will find Elf Town — a handcrafted Christmas village that looks as if it stepped straight out of a storybook. What began in 2011 as a modest display has grown into an intricate mini town with themed buildings, whimsical scenes and remarkable attention to detail. Elf Town has become one of Deerfield’s most beloved stops and this season it is better than ever.

A Christmas Village Brought To Life

This year Elf Town introduces its most detailed additions yet — fully constructed elf houses that turn the yard into a walk-through world. On one side of the path sits Elf School, a bright red cottage arranged with tiny desks, chalkboard lessons and figurines posed mid-session as if the school day is underway. Directly across from it is the Elf Shop, where elves appear to assemble gifts at workbenches lined with miniature tools, ribbons and toys. Warm golden light glows from each small window giving the scene the feeling of a workshop humming late into the night.

Farther along the walkway visitors arrive at Elf Town Depot, the village’s train station. Benches hold waiting elves while a toy freight car sits ready to depart. Behind the depot the home’s façade rises with a towering vertical Christmas tree made from cascading strands of red and green lights. Oversized lollipops, gingerbread characters and peppermint sticks line the snowy path guiding visitors from scene to scene. Snowmen gift boxes, elf figures and glowing décor fill every corner creating a sense of movement and playfulness throughout the yard.

Photo: Rebecca Silvestri

A Story Of Strength Behind The Lights

Elf Town is not just creative — it is deeply personal. The homeowner who designs and builds the display each year is a breast cancer survivor and the project has become both a work of art and a celebration of resilience. Over more than a decade the display has brought joy to thousands of families who make Deerfield part of their holiday tradition. Many visitors return year after year to see how Elf Town has grown.

She also uses the display to support breast cancer research by collecting donations from visitors. Anyone who wants to contribute can do so through her official fundraising page.

Deerfield Holiday Lights: What To Expect

Deerfield remains one of Plano’s most cherished holiday experiences with homes across the neighborhood participating in elaborate lighting displays. To help with flow residents recommend entering from Legacy Drive or Ohio Drive and following the preferred route around the neighborhood.

A few helpful tips:

Expect traffic on weekends. Mid December evenings are the busiest.
Weeknights are calmer and ideal for families who want to walk instead of drive.
Parking is limited so avoid blocking alleys, driveways or intersections.
There are no public restrooms so plan ahead.
Walk if you can because the magic is even richer up close.

Displays change from year to year but Elf Town remains one of Deerfield’s most anticipated stops. Children linger in front of the miniature houses pointing out new details and adults admire the craftsmanship that goes into each piece. The combination of artistry, imagination and community spirit sets this home apart even among the neighborhood’s brightest and boldest.

Photo: Rebecca Silvestri

The House You Must See This Season

Whether you are discovering Deerfield Lights for the first time or continuing a long-standing holiday tradition, Elf Town at 4641 Penbrook Court deserves a spot at the top of your list.
