The Lady Chaps open the trip Thursday at Oklahoma Christian, with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m. inside the Eagles&#8217; Nest, before heading to Lawton for a 1 p.m. matchup Saturday against Cameron.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nRING THE BELLES<br \/>\nNo. 4 Lubbock Christian University stayed unbeaten and pushed its home winning streak to 22 games with a 77\u201359 victory over Angelo State, closing the 2025 home calendar at a perfect 12\u20130. The Lady Chaps broke the game open with a dominant second quarter, holding ASU to 2-of-12 shooting and forcing nine straight misses during a 15\u20130 run that helped build a 37\u201323 halftime lead. LCU shot 50 percent from the field and went 10-of-20 from three, matching the Rambelles&#8217; long-range makes while controlling the paint 28\u20138.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/martie-mccoy\/3511\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"3511\" target=\"_blank\">Martie McCoy<\/a> delivered a career-best performance with 21 points on 6-of-7 shooting, adding seven rebounds, four assists, 10 drawn fouls and a game-high +20 plus\/minus. <a href=\"https:\/\/lcuchaps.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/kennedy-chappell\/4849\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4849\" target=\"_blank\">Kennedy Chappell<\/a> added 20 points, six assists and four steals, becoming just the third Lady Chap in the NCAA era to post a 20\u20136\u20134 line. In NCAA postseason play, the Lady Chaps are 27-5 all-time (78.1%).<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nNATIONALLY KNOWN<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nPrior to this season, national rankings were conducted by WBCA and D2CSC in NCAA Division II women&#8217;s basketball, but a decision was made to discontinue D2CSC top-25 polls in all sports, so the WBCA is the lone national poll available for NCAA Division II women&#8217;s basketball. LCU, who closed last season ranked No.7 in the final WBCA Coaches Poll, opened this season at No.13 in the WBCA Preseason Coaches Poll. They are currently ranked No.3 nationally in the poll, moving up from No.4 last week. Heading into this week&#8217;s play, LCU is the only program in NCAA Div. II with both of their men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s basketball programs in the top-5 (LCU&#8217;s men&#8217;s program is No.4 in NABC poll) and LCU is one of three programs in NCAA Division II with both of their basketball programs unbeaten.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nFIVE FACTS ABOUT OC\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n1 &gt; Oklahoma Christian (4-4, 0-2) has been perfect at home (4\u20130) but winless on the road (0\u20134), with all four of their losses and all conference losses coming away from home. Their average margin in true road games is \u201328.8 points.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n2 &gt; OC ranks 43rd nationally and 2nd in the LSC in rebound margin (+6.5 per game) and pulls down 38.9 boards per game. Three players average 5.0+ rebounds led by Taylor Jackson (5.9) and Elikya Baseyila (5.0).<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n3 &gt; The Lady Eagles rank No. 1 in the LSC and 6th nationally in free-throw attempts per game (27.0), but sit just 11th in the league and 198th nationally in FT percentage (65.7%). Taylor Jackson (36 FTA) and Allyah Leusogi-Ape (34 FTA) drive most of the volume.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n4 &gt; Despite being 4\u20134, OC ranks 42nd nationally in field-goal percentage defense (35.4%) and 1st in the LSC in 3-point percentage defense (25.0%). Only one opponent (East Central with 8) has made more than six three-pointers in a game against OC.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n5 &gt; Kenzie Willis leads OC with 10.8 points a game, but was held scoreless at Eastern New Mexico and is averaging 5.0 points per conference game. Taylor Jackson filled in the void at ENMU with 19 points and is averaging 10.5 points per LSC contest to lead OC in conference play.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nTHE SERIES AGAINST OC<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nFor a fourth consecutive meeting, LCU, who once trailed 0-12 in the all-time series, has a series lead against OC, leading 33-29 in a series that dates back to 1979. LCU had trailed the all-time series until winning 29 of the last 32 meetings, including winning the prior 22 meetings (OC&#8217;s last win coming on Feb. 17, 2011). The two teams last met Jan. 23, with LCU winning 72-52 in Lubbock. The prior meeting in Oklahoma resulted in an 69-65 LCU win on Nov. 30, 2023. LCU has won the last 10 meetings played in Oklahoma City.
