{"id":84488,"date":"2025-12-11T21:32:11","date_gmt":"2025-12-11T21:32:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/84488\/"},"modified":"2025-12-11T21:32:11","modified_gmt":"2025-12-11T21:32:11","slug":"chamber-welcomes-new-executive-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/84488\/","title":{"rendered":"Chamber welcomes new executive director"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ty Lake, the new executive director of the Murphy Chamber of Commerce, meets a Chamber member at the Dec. 4 business card exchange.<\/p>\n<p>The Murphy Chamber of Commerce has hired Ty Lake as executive director, effective Dec. 1.<\/p>\n<p>Outgoing Chamber Chair Luke Trahan introduced Lake at the Dec. 2 meeting of the Murphy City Council and she met members at the Dec. 4 business card exchange.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy career has been dedicated to building vibrant communities through partnerships, engagement and innovation,\u201d Lake said. \u201cMurphy is full of opportunity and success stories, and I look forward to working with our members to grow, strengthen partnerships and celebrate the unique character of this wonderful community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, Lake served as senior marketing manager at St. Andrew Methodist Church, in Plano, where she directed communications and outreach strategies across digital and traditional platforms, strengthening connections with members and the community at large.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to that, Lake was Main Street director in McKinney and director of the McKinney Performing Arts Center, responsible for events and concerts as well as working closely with merchants, restaurateurs and entrepreneurs to create programs that boosted foot traffic, expanded tourism and supported small business growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTy\u2019s background demonstrates a rare combination of vision, collaboration and results,\u201d Trahan said. \u201cFrom strengthening business economies to leading marketing and engagement efforts to organizing special events, she has consistently elevated organizations and communities. We are thrilled to welcome her leadership to Murphy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trahan will be succeeded as chair in 2026 by Paul Brown. Jimmy Weddle is vice chair, Elise Peek is treasurer, Staci Clemmer will continue as a director and Jen\u00e9 Butler as a member at large.<\/p>\n<p>New Chamber officers will be Secretary Heather Chaun and Directors Carolyn Potts, Amalia Cordido and Jacob Coleman.<\/p>\n<p>Reagan Rothenberger, the city of Murphy\u2019s director of community and economic development, will continue as an appointed ex-officio director of the Chamber and Dr. Jaspreet Gill will be member at large.<\/p>\n<p>The Chamber was founded in April 2003. According to its website, \u201cThe mission of the Murphy Chamber of Commerce is to promote and strengthen business relationships, offer solutions for their needs and create the best community in which to work, live and grow a business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Chamber hosts the annual Spring Fever vendor event and participates in other community events such as the Maize Days \u201ccornival\u201d in the fall.<\/p>\n<p>Members also conduct a Youthpreneur summer bootcamp and the Murphy Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Foundation has awarded more than $160,000 in scholarships to Murphy students since the program began 20 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>For more stories about the Murphy community see the next print, or digital edition of the <a href=\"https:\/\/publisher.etype.services\/Murphy-Monitor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Murphy Monitor.
