The Longhorns were invited to the Citrus Bowl<\/a> in Orlando, Fla. and will play the Michigan Wolverines. Texas (9-3, 6-2 SEC) and Michigan (9-3, 7-2 Big Ten) were two of the best teams in their respective conferences that did not make the\u00a0CFP.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Just a few weeks before Michigan was set to finish its 2025 season against Texas, the university announced Wednesday that head coach Sherrone Moore had been fired for cause. Subsequent reports state he had an “inappropriate” relationship<\/a> with a staffer. Moore, 39, was in police custody for an alleged assault in the aftermath of the firing announcement.
