Jonathan Stein and Alvaro Martinez received federal prison terms after a series of armed robberies across Corpus Christi in December 2024.<\/p>\n
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 A judge sentenced two Corpus Christi men on Thursday for a series of aggravated robberies, according to the United States Attorney’s Office Southern District of Texas.<\/p>\n
U.S. District Judge David S. Morales sentenced Stein to eight years in prison and Martinez to 5.5 years, followed by three years of probation.<\/p>\n
Jonathan Stein, 20, and Alvaro Martinez, 21, previously pleaded guilty on Aug. 4.<\/p>\n
The attorney’s office said both men robbed three Stripes convenience stores in Corpus Christi on December 2024 the pair robbed three Stripes convenience stores in Corpus Christi.<\/p>\n
Upon Stein and Martinez’s sentencing, \u00a0the court saw video footage of Stein, masked and armed with a firearm, demanding money from a convenience store on Airline Road on Christmas Day.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Two days later, he carried out a similar robbery. Martinez supplied the gun and acted as the getaway driver.<\/p>\n
Investigators later found a photo of Martinez posing with the firearm and cash, as well as the weapon and a matching mask in his vehicle.<\/p>\n
Both men were allowed to remain on bond and will voluntarily report to a designated federal prison.<\/p>\n
