Mount Enterprise<\/a> star senior Kaegan Ash<\/a> signed with Texas Tech<\/a> earlier this month. He\u2019ll head to Lubbock as a Texas high school football legend.<\/p>\n

One week after breaking Kenneth Hall\u2019s longstanding single-season rushing record, Ash has now caught Hall\u2019s career mark, breaking the state\u2019s all-time rushing record. Hall, who played from 1950-53, finished with 11,232 yards on the ground.<\/p>\n

Ash entered Friday night needing 90 yards to tie the record and he\u2019s now surpassed it in Mount Enterprise\u2019s 2A Division II state semifinal against Shiner<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Myriad elite athletes and prospects have come out of the Lone Star State since Hall set the all-time mark over 70 years ago. His 4,045 single-season record and career mark both seemed nearly untouchable for some time.<\/p>\n

Another record Ash has broken this season that\u2019s been standing since the 1980\u2019s is that of former Sheridan (IN) running back\u00a0Brett Law, who scored 453 points back in 1988. Ash ended up surpassing Law\u2019s record and now sits with 476 points and counting as Mount Enterprise continues to make their playoff run in the Class 2A, Division II playoffs.<\/p>\n

Ash\u2019s quest was kicked off with a 2,023-yard freshman season. He added 2,837 yards as a sophomore, 1,960 last fall and entered Friday night with 4,322 yards this season. It\u2019s been pure domination for the senior this fall. He also entered Friday with 173 total touchdowns to his name on offense. He\u2019s also tallied<\/p>\n

The senior running back has signed with Texas Tech to play linebacker and Ash has also played plenty of defense for Mount Enterprise this season. Ash on the defensive side of the ball entered the night totaling 102 tackles, 20 going for a loss, 7.5 sacks and five forced fumbles.<\/p>\n
