{"id":86825,"date":"2025-12-13T15:27:18","date_gmt":"2025-12-13T15:27:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/86825\/"},"modified":"2025-12-13T15:27:18","modified_gmt":"2025-12-13T15:27:18","slug":"woman-possibly-squatting-fatally-shot-after-fight-with-security-guard-at-apartment-complex-near-nrg-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/86825\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman possibly squatting fatally shot after fight with security guard at apartment complex near NRG Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">HOUSTON \u2013 Police say a woman, believed to be squatting inside an apartment unit, was shot and killed after a fight with a security guard at an apartment complex near NRG Park Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The shooting happened at a complex in the 2100 block of Holly Hall Street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Police were called at 12:27 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Sgt. Charles Lamont with HPD\u2019s Homicide Division says the call originally came in as a criminal mischief in progress, but was shortly afterwards upgraded to a shooting in progress.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Homicide investigators are en route to a fatal shooting at 2111 Holly Hall St.<\/p>\n<p>Prelim info: a security guard was involved in a physical altercation with a tresspasser. At one point, shots were fired. One person is deceased &amp; another transported. She was taken to a hospital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Officers entered an apartment unit and found a woman dead inside.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Police learned a contractor had entered the unit to do work and found the woman inside. The woman was not authorized to be there. The contractor then notified apartment maintenance who then notified the security guard. The security guard then entered the unit and confronted the woman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cFrom talking with maintenance and the contractor who was originally here, the individual didn\u2019t want to leave and the altercation escalated from there,\u201d Lamont said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Lamont says he has not talked with the security guard yet, but learned she did use a taser on the woman before the shooting happened.
