San Antonio Spurs supporters are organizing a rally this Monday at downtown\u2019s Legacy Park as a last-ditch effort to build support for a new, publicly funded basketball arena.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The event, dubbed \u201cVote, Spurs, Vote,\u201d will kick off at 6 p.m. and feature a guest appearance from former Spurs star and NBA Champion Sean Elliott.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Other high-profile attendees include celebrity chefs\u00a0Johnny Hernandez and Jason Dady, Centro CEO Trish DeBerry and San Antonio tech entrepreneur Lorenzo Gomez III.\u00a0<\/p>\n

San Antonio developer Weston Urban is sponsoring the event.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The rally comes days after a poll conducted by UT-San Antonio found that the largest share of Bexar County voters surveyed, 46%, were opposed to a publicly financed new downtown arena.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The rally is being held on the first day of early voting for the Nov. 4 election, which runs Oct. 20-31.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Residents can check if they\u2019re registered to vote and locate polling stations by visiting the Bexar County Elections Department website<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
