A home on Beverly Drive is instantly recognized as prestigious Dallas real estate. Even if you’re searching for luxury properties from abroad, a Realtor is sure to mention Beverly Drive by name. Along with Armstrong Parkway, it’s one of the most iconic streets in Highland Park.

Wilber David Cook, an urban planner and landscape architect, designed the master plans for Highland Park and Beverly Hills simultaneously in the early 1900s, so it’s pretty clear to me he had a hand in naming Beverly Drive.

It’s kismet that this house was purchased by a couple from Montecito, continuing what has been a steady flow of relocation from the West Coast to Dallas over the past few years. With kids at SMU, Lee and Lori Mikles naturally wanted to be near them, so they started scouting in Dallas. They found a spacious Mediterranean on Beverly Drive that was a perfect spot for the family to gather.

The house was dated, so the couple fully renovated it — updating the interiors, facade, pool, and landscaping over 15 months.

The Beverly Drive home is now a showplace with some features you’ll have to call the Realtor to view, like the spa room with a built-in sauna and the state-of-the-art theater room.

“It’s a dark navy with gray fabric seats and a 12-foot wide screen, but hard to photograph,” Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s Realtor Ryan Mikles said. “It’s in constant use and a great napping spot!”
