{"id":89211,"date":"2025-12-15T23:44:04","date_gmt":"2025-12-15T23:44:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/89211\/"},"modified":"2025-12-15T23:44:04","modified_gmt":"2025-12-15T23:44:04","slug":"richardson-fire-department-to-spend-4m-on-new-firetrucks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/89211\/","title":{"rendered":"Richardson Fire Department to spend $4M on new firetrucks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cor.net\/government\/city-council\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Richardson City Council<\/a> members unanimously approved $4.2 million in spending on two new firetrucks at a Dec. 10 meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The order includes a replacement for a ladder truck that will be retired as well as a new truck equipped with a basket for rescue operations.<\/p>\n<p>The big picture<\/p>\n<p>This purchase will expand Station No. 3 in northwest Richardson according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cor.net\/home\/showpublisheddocument\/44754\/638978704632400000\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fire Department Strategic Master Plan<\/a>, which was approved by the City Council on Nov. 10.<\/p>\n<p>The station plans to staff the additional truck, which has a delivery timeline of two years, by hiring 15 firefighters.<\/p>\n<p>The funding source<\/p>\n<p>Both new firetrucks will be funded by certificates of obligation, according to city documents.
