James Beard\u2013nominated bakery and caf\u00e9 La Panader\u00eda will open its newest San Antonio location in Stone Oak on this Wednesday, marking the brand\u2019s fifth outpost in the city.<\/p>\n

The 6,600-square-foot bakery and restaurant, 1011 N. Loop 1604 E., will celebrate its grand opening with a public event from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and a ribbon cutting scheduled for 11:30 a.m. A DJ and the UTSA Cheerleaders are scheduled to attend.<\/p>\n

The Stone Oak unit is La Panader\u00eda\u2019s largest location to date and includes 100 dedicated parking spaces. The project represents a $3.5 million investment and has created approximately 100 new jobs in San Antonio, according to the company.<\/p>\n

Guests can expect the same menu offerings found at other locations \u2014 authentic Mexican pastries, all-day breakfast, brunch and lunch options, as well as coffee, fresh juices, beer, wine and cocktails. The location will also feature customizable tortas and salads.<\/p>\n

The opening also will mark the debut of La Panader\u00eda\u2019s first-ever mascot, Don Lino, who will appear at the grand opening ceremony. <\/p>\n

Named after a fictional baker from childhood stories shared by the C\u00e1ceres brothers \u2014\u00a0La La Panader\u00eda\u2019s founders and owners \u2014 Don Lino was created to honor generations of bakers who inspired the family\u2019s craft. The character\u2019s backstory was written by Jos\u00e9 C\u00e1ceres\u2019 son, Emiliano C\u00e1ceres Manzano, and is available on La Panader\u00eda\u2019s website.<\/p>\n
