Photo by Andy Redmond \/ C&amp;S Media<\/p>\n<p>By David Wolman<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/murphymonitor.com\/cdn-cgi\/l\/email-protection\" class=\"__cf_email__\" data-cfemail=\"80f3f0eff2f4f3c0e3f3ede5e4e9e1f4e5f8e1f3aee3efed\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">[email\u00a0protected]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>After winning each of its first three district games by double digits, the Plano East girls basketball team faced its biggest test Friday night.<\/p>\n<p>McKinney Boyd, ranked No. 20 in last week\u2019s Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class 6A state poll, entered the game with a 9-1 record.<\/p>\n<p>Plano East, a state semifinalist last season, was up for the challenge. Led by 29 points from sophomore 5-star recruit Arianna Robinson, the Lady Panthers took a 40-29 halftime lead and then withstood a McKinney Boyd second-half surge to earn a 67-64 home win.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Nariah Witherspoon added 13 points, followed by 10 from senior Madeline Bankhead.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Plano East sophomore Arianna Robinson scored 29 points in last Friday\u2019s 67-64 home win over McKinney Boyd.
