Another sprawling residential development<\/a> is headed to Harris County<\/a>-this time targeting renters in Katy.<\/p>\n

Located at the northwest corner of Clay Road and Katy Pointe Boulevard, a 17.2-acre site will soon transform into a 210-unit build-to-rent community, according to a story in Realty News Report. RSK Real Estate Partners-a Chicago developer-is expected to begin construction on the development in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

Known as The Landing at Katy Pointe, the development will include two- and three-bedroom duplexes, approximately 1,500 square feet, with attached garages and landscaped yards. The units are expected to be up for lease by the third quarter of 2026.<\/p>\n

The build-to-rent boom in Houston continues to grow. Earlier this year, Point2Homes ranked Houston<\/a> fifth nationwide for cities with the most single-family rental units in the pipeline. In 2024, RentCafe ranked Houston<\/a> third for cities with build-to-rent homes under construction.<\/p>\n

The Clay Road development is the second RSK Real Estate Partners’ build-to-rent community in Katy. The first, known as The Landing at Morton Ranch, consists of 156 units on a 9.4-acre site just one mile north of the newly proposed development.<\/p>\n

“The Landing at Katy Pointe will fulfill needs of young families, professionals and empty nesters who desire the perks of a single-family home in a well-located growing area of Katy,” Rick Ragan, vice president of NewQuest who represented RSK<\/a> in the transaction, said in their release.<\/p>\n

Several other build-to-rent communities have also taken shape nearby, including Tricon’s 175-unit Peek Road community and AHV’s 176-unit Katy Legacy community.<\/p>\n

Katy continues to be one of Houston’s fastest-growing suburbs, with several other large-scale residential and mixed-use developments<\/a> underway. \u00a0The Katy ISD is also set to expand its footprint<\/a> to meet the population boom, with plans for an estimated $64 million elementary school and a $72.5 million junior high.<\/p>\n
