Lubbock roads<\/a> are a source of contention for, well, just about everyone who’s driven on them. Now is your chance to put your two cents in and speak face-to-face with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT)<\/a>\u00a0with their public meeting<\/a> happening today, December 18, at 5:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

What Will TxDOT Talk About During Their Public Meeting?<\/p>\n

The purpose of the meet-and-greet happening this evening is intended to hear from you, the wonderful citizens of Lubbock and Wolfforth Counties, about\u00a0the\u00a0proposed project to improve FM 179<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For anyone curious, this is what all of FM 179 looks like, spanning all the way from west of Plainview to north of Lamesa:<\/p>\n

If you do choose to attend this open meeting, you’ll have to head to Room 200 of the Frenship ISD Casey Administration Building on 501 7th Street, Wolfforth, TX<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Anyone showing up is encouraged to ask questions about the proposed project and provide feedback from TxDOT directly.<\/p>\n

TxDOT staff will answer any questions they can about the 1.8 miles of FM 179 for which the improvements will be made: from US 62 to FM 1585. Take a look here at the little slice of what we’re talking about:<\/p>\n

What Improvements are We Talking About?<\/p>\n

This meeting is about more than just painting a few extra lines on the road. It’s actually going to cover everything from reconstruction <\/a>and new traffic signals, to adding new lanes and drainage structures.<\/p>\n
