A local favorite has officially reopened in New Braunfels, this time as a food truck.<\/p>\n

Steaks to Go held a soft opening Dec. 14 and a grand opening Dec. 18 for its new food truck, located at 221 Elliot Knox Blvd., next to Roc-N-Ritas.<\/p>\n
Steaks to Go previously operated as a brick-and-mortar at 107 S. Business I-35 before closing in 2014, co-owner Casey Woods told Community Impact.<\/p>\n
“When we had the chance to bring back a New Braunfels favorite, we didn\u2019t think twice. We said yes and got to work,” Woods said in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the original chef returning and our take on the recipes, everyone remembers, we\u2019re proud to revive a name that means something to this town.”<\/p>\n
Take a closer look<\/a>.<\/p>\n A new kind of service: Veteran-owned Clean Eatz fuels healthier living through meal prep<\/a><\/p>\n Howie Hsieh began meal prepping while serving as a pilot in the United States Air Force.<\/p>\n \u201cWe had 12-14-hour days sometimes, and we needed to be fit to fight. Meal prepping was the solution,\u201d Hsieh said.<\/p>\n Hsieh\u2019s last duty station was at Universal City\u2019s Randolph Air Force Base, and when he was relieved from his pilot duties, he thought it would be a good idea to continue meal prepping, inspiring him to open a Clean Eatz in San Antonio\u2019s Stone Oak area at 158 E. Sonterra Blvd., Ste. 106.<\/p>\n What they offer<\/p>\n Clean Eatz operates as a sit-down, dine-in restaurant, but also has two concepts centered around meal prepping. The restaurant has a grab-and-go section offering brisket, steak, pizza, keto and vegetarian meal options.<\/p>\n Dig deeper.<\/a><\/p>\n Wanting to spread Czech cuisine with Texas flair in Central Texas, Dos Gatos Kolache Bakery co-owner Chase Katz said he had been eyeing expansion for the past couple of years.<\/p>\n Now, the San Marcos-based kolache bakery has opened its third overall location at 1164 FM 306 in New Braunfels.<\/p>\n \u201cThis will be your favorite local coffee shop,\u201d Katz said. \u201cThere\u2019s so much to love about being here in New Braunfels.\u201d<\/p>\n Staying local<\/p>\n Dos Gatos opened its first location in San Marcos in 2009. Katz said the concept aimed to fill a specific niche in the region.<\/p>\n \u201cI felt something like this was missing in the area,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n So Katz partnered up with his brother, Seth, to open a new business. After taking over a recently closed kolache bakery in town, Katz said the idea of a coffee shop with a unique twist was born.<\/p>\n Expand your knowledge.<\/a><\/p>\n CommonWealth Coffeehouse & Bistro opens 5th location in North San Antonio<\/a><\/p>\n This local French-inspired coffee shop chain has opened its fifth location in San Antonio, this time on the city\u2019s north side.<\/p>\n Current situation<\/p>\n CommonWealth Coffeehouse & Bistro officially opened its first Stone Oak location Dec. 5, shop staff told Community Impact.<\/p>\n It\u2019s located at 20079 Stone Oak Parkway, Ste. 3100.<\/p>\n The coffee shop is one of five across the metro, with other locations downtown, on the west side and in Alamo Heights, according to their website.<\/p>\n Gain further insights.<\/a><\/p>\n A popular nationwide steakhouse restaurant has made its debut in New Braunfels.<\/p>\n Texas Roadhouse opened at 3206 I-35 N. frontage road on Dec. 8. The steakhouse has 730 locations across the United States and in other countries around the world, according to its website.<\/p>\n What they offer<\/p>\n The chain is known for its classic American steakhouse fare, complete fall-off-the-bone ribs and rattlesnake bites.
