CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 Christmas in the Coastal Bend continues into January 2026 with the 42nd Annual Boar\u2019s Head and Yule Log Festival<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n The pageant will be held on Saturday, Jan. 10 with performances at 3 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7 p.m. at First Christian Church, 3401 Santa Fe St.<\/p>\n Originating in Oxford, England, in 1340, the festival tells the story of a student who defeated a wild boar with a book of Aristotle, symbolizing good over evil. Today, the Corpus Christi festival features 180 costumed performers, a 50-member chorus and orchestra, and audience participation in singing traditional Christmas carols.<\/p>\n The festival also includes a Red-Tail Hawk from the Hawn Wild Flight Program at the Texas State Aquarium and authentic Renaissance costumes and scenery. Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations for the Food Bank of Corpus Christi.<\/p>\n Since its start in Corpus Christi around 1980, the festival has been a community effort, with church members creating costumes, sets, music, and performing in the pageant.
