HOUSTON – A man is in Harris County custody for allegedly stabbing his mother to death in Southwest Houston early Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

What we know:<\/p>\n
Houston Police identified 34-year-old Gerren Crosson<\/a> as the suspect who killed his 71-year-old mother. Court records identify the victim as Alta Veasley.<\/p>\n Police were called at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday to a home on Harristown Drive<\/a>, near West Orem and Green Colling Park Drives.<\/p>\n Authorities say a woman was found at the home with stab wounds. Veasley allegedly claimed Crosson stabbed her.<\/p>\n Veasley was taken to a hospital, but was later pronounced deceased.<\/p>\n Police found Crosson in the home, and he was initially detained.
