Angela Paxton agreed to unseal records in their divorce after several media organizations, including the Texas Tribune, sued to make the records available to the public.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/directory.texastribune.org\/angela-paxton\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Angela Paxton<\/a>, R-McKinney, filed for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texastribune.org\/2025\/07\/10\/angela-paxton-divorce-texas-attorney-general-ken\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">divorce<\/a> in July on \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AngelaPaxtonTX\/status\/1943366217479393512\" rel=\"nofollow\">biblical grounds<\/a>,\u201d alleging her husband had committed adultery, according to the divorce filing. A Collin County judge subsequently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texastribune.org\/2025\/07\/12\/texas-attorney-general-ken-paxton-angela-divorce-records-sealed\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">sealed<\/a> all records related to the divorce proceedings. Several news and watchdog organizations, including ProPublica, The Texas Newsroom and Campaign for Accountability, then filed a plea in September for the records to be unsealed. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/26386330-agreed-order-to-unseal-court-records-12-18-25-48280431-clean\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">order<\/a>, signed by the Paxtons\u2019 lawyers, will \u201crestore full public access to the case file,\u201d according to the filing. A judge still needs to sign the order, and a hearing on whether the records would be unsealed is scheduled for Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Ken Paxton, who is currently running to unseat U.S. Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/directory.texastribune.org\/john-cornyn\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">John Cornyn<\/a> in next year\u2019s Republican primary, has served as Texas\u2019 attorney general for almost a decade.
