1.\u00a0Texas House Democrats have a plan to flip 5 seats in the upcoming election<\/a><\/p>\n

The Texas House Democratic Campaign Committee sees Texas on the verge of a shift. The group plans to target five districts in the 2026 general election, spanning from Corpus Christi to Garland.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last general election was unusual in that Donald Trump took a greater share of minority votes, particularly Hispanic votes, than Republicans normally do,\u201d said Cal Jillson, a professor of political science at Southern Methodist University. \u201cSo what Democrats are banking on is that Hispanics who supported Trump in 2024 are now leaving him.\u201d<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Prairie View A&M receives a semiconductor grant from the state<\/a><\/p>\n

Prairie View A&M University has received a grant from the Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund (TSIF), according to a press release from Gov. Greg Abbott\u2019s\u00a0website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The $1.98 million grant will help with setting up a workforce development initiative that will focus on 3D Heterogenous Integration (3DHI) for microelectronics. According to the\u00a0IMEC<\/a>, an electronics research organization, it is used to help create shorter paths between processors and memory along with boosting performance for systems.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0San Antonio ISD expands meal program for families still reeling from SNAP losses<\/a><\/p>\n

It was bumper to bumper traffic at San Antonio Independent School District\u2019s Alamo Stadium parking lot, and it wasn\u2019t for a high school playoff game. The traffic was made up of families attending the district’s food distribution.<\/p>\n

SAISD and food bank officials say the food drive was much larger this year; over 30,000 pounds of food was distributed to 500 families.\u00a0<\/p>\n

UT parts ways with defensive coordinator, brings back Will Muschamp<\/a><\/p>\n

The University of Texas at Austin has let go of defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski and has hired former Longhorns defensive coordinator Will Muschamp.<\/p>\n
