Corpus Christi police said they have arrested a juvenile in connection with the aggravated robbery of a vehicle that ended in the death of another juvenile on Dec. 18.<\/p>\n
Corpus Christi police officers reported they observed a vehicle driving recklessly at 12:32 a.m. and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, according to a news release from the Corpus Christi Police Department. The vehicle fled, and officers lost sight of it.<\/p>\n
Officers searched the area and found the vehicle wrecked after it had struck a parked vehicle in the 800 block of 16th Street.<\/p>\n
Three juveniles were in the vehicle. Two had injuries that were not life-threatening while one had serious injuries. They were all taken to local hospitals, and one juvenile died of his injuries, the news release said.<\/p>\n
While investigating the crash, officers received a call of an aggravated robbery that had occurred earlier. A victim stated their vehicle had been taken at gunpoint by juvenile males, the news release said.<\/p>\n
Officers determined the vehicle involved in the crash was the stolen vehicle, and a firearm was recovered inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n
In an email on Dec. 19, senior officer Antonio Contreras said one juvenile was arrested later on Dec. 18 and charged with aggravated robbery and engaging in organized criminal activity.<\/p>\n
