EL PASO, Texas (KTSM<\/a>) \u2014 A 36-year-old wanted man was arrested after assaulting two women, stealing two vehicles and fleeing to Anthony, New Mexico, according to the El Paso County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Miguel Rojero, 36, was booked into the Do\u00f1a Ana County Detention Center, where he is pending extradition to El Paso County.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Dec. 11, deputies were dispatched to the 7000 block of Third Street in Canutillo to reports of an assault in progress. When deputies arrived, they learned that a man, later identified as Rojero, had assaulted a 33-year-old woman and her 17-year-old daughter before stealing their vehicle, according to EPCSO.<\/p>\n

Later, Rojero crashed the stolen vehicle along the 400 block of Vinton Avenue. After the crash, Rojero entered the roadway and stopped another vehicle.<\/p>\n

The Sheriff\u2019s Office said Rojero threatened to shoot the driver and passenger if they did not exit the vehicle. Both victims complied, and Rojero fled in the second stolen vehicle.<\/p>\n

EPCSO\u2019s Fugitive Apprehension Unit investigated Rojero\u2019s whereabouts and deputies learned he was wanted on two counts of robbery, assault family violence impede breath and criminal mischief.<\/p>\n

Deputies also learned that Rojero was hiding at a residence along the 2000 block of Acosta Road in Anthony, New Mexico. With assistance from the Do\u00f1a Ana County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Rojero was taken into custody without incident, the Sheriff\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are grateful for the partnership and assistance from the Do\u00f1a Ana County Sheriff\u2019s Office,\u201d El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte said. \u201cNo matter where someone attempts to hide, we will continue working across jurisdictions to ensure accountability. Violence against our community will not be tolerated, and justice will be served.\u201d<\/p>\n
