For whatever reason, it’s the away team that’s had the advantage when Flour Bluff<\/a> and Ray<\/a> meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Hornets walked away with a 58-51 win over the Texans. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Hornets’ disadvantage in MaxPreps’ Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 451st, while the Texans are ranked 103rd).<\/p>\n

Flour Bluff has been performing well recently as they’ve won three of their last four contests. That’s provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. As for Ray, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.<\/p>\n

We’ve got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Flour Bluff will face off against rival Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Ray is set to take on their familiar foe Gregory-Portland at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.<\/p>\n
