The stellar one-handed touchdown grab was the eighth of the season for Johnston as he became the first Charger since Antonio Gates to catch at least eight touchdowns in back-to-back seasons.<\/p>\n
Johnston wasn’t done, however, as he came back early in the second half with another highlight.<\/p>\n
On the second play of the third quarter, Herbert stepped up in the pocket and uncorked a back shoulder ball deep down the sideline to give Johnston a chance in another 1-on-1 situation.<\/p>\n
Not only did the third-year receiver leap and make the grab over a defender, he got his feet inbounds for a massive chunk gain of 50 yards.<\/p>\n
He’s shown his big play ability before and did just that on Sunday in a big way.<\/p>\n
“Definitely shows my growth and my hard work and stuff like that,” Johnston said.<\/p>\n
