Texas Tech women\u2019s soccer was tied 2-2 against Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona, Thursday night until junior forward Taylor Zdrojewski scored the game-winning goal with five minutes remaining in the second half.<\/p>\n
Tech was dominant in the first half and went into halftime with a 2-0 lead. Arizona State came back with two goals early in the second half, which remained tied until Zdrojewski\u2019s game-winning shot that allowed the Red Raiders to win 3-2.<\/p>\n
Tech\u2019s dominance was shown early with a shot on goal from redshirt sophomore midfielder Sam Courtwright. The goal was saved by Arizona State\u2019s senior goalkeeper Pauline Nelles.<\/p>\n
Courtwright\u2019s shot on goal was followed quickly with a goal from Zdrojewski during the fourth minute to take an early lead. Tech junior forward Storie Sexton scored her first goal of the season during the 30th minute to advance the score to 2-0.<\/p>\n
Arizona State\u2019s senior midfielder Peyton Marcisz scored just five minutes into the second half, improving the score to 2-1. Marcisz\u2019s second goal, just 10 minutes later, tied the game.<\/p>\n
Both teams traded shots on goal for the rest of the night until Zdrojewski\u2019s score in the 84th minute.<\/p>\n
Arizona State was unable to respond to Zdrojewski\u2019s second goal.<\/p>\n
