Many are now aware of the power that Texas Tech<\/a> wields on the recruiting front. It\u2019s been most obvious during the Transfer Portal window, but the Big 12 program is making quite the splash on the high school recruiting front, too.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the Red Raiders signed the No. 20 class in the 2026 cycle, per the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings<\/a>. Early on in the 2027 cycle, TTU is in pole position.<\/p>\n

As of Dec. 22, Texas Tech has the top-ranked 2027 recruiting class in the nation. That\u2019s thanks to five commits, two of whom currently rank as the No. 1 prospect at their respective positions.<\/p>\n

On Oct. 4, head coach Joey McGuire<\/a> and Co. landed one of their biggest recruiting wins to date as Cedar Hill (Texas) five-star defensive lineman Jalen Brewster<\/a> committed. He\u2019s the No. 1 overall prospect in the Rivals300.<\/p>\n

\u201cCoach McGuire \u2026 he used to be my coach at high school, so I\u2019ve had that connection,\u201d Brewster told Rivals\u2019 Hayes Fawcett<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s all been love every time I go up to Lubbock. I\u2019m looking forward to being in the atmosphere. I\u2019ve never been there for a game, so I want to see how the atmosphere is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brewster is an instant-impact disruptor in the trenches. He\u2019s flanked at the top of TTU\u2019s class by Palestine (Texas) Westwood four-star quarterback Kavian Bryant<\/a>. He jumped in the fold at the beginning of November and is the top-ranked QB in the Rivals300 to date.<\/p>\n

Bryant just set a single-season passing yards record<\/a> for his high school and continues to bolster his stock. He very well could be the signal-caller of the future in Lubbock.<\/p>\n

Three other in-state prospects are already in the mix, too. Humble Summer Creek four-star wide receiver Benny Easter Jr.<\/a> is Rivals\u2019 No. 39 recruit and No. 5 WR. Lake Dallas DeSoto four-star K\u2019Adrian Redmond<\/a> and Houston Westfield three-star Antonio Underwood<\/a> add two more defensive linemen to the mix.<\/p>\n

This is a class that\u2019s already seen some big changes, too. Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine Military five-star EDGE LaDamion Guyton<\/a> decided to reclassify to 2026 and has now signed with TTU. Fort Gibson (Okla.) five-star offensive tackle Cooper Hackett<\/a> flipped from Tech to Oklahoma back in September.<\/p>\n
