GALVESTON, Texas \u2013 The Consulate of Mexico has released the names of five people who are confirmed dead after a Mexican Navy aircraft carrying a burn patient crashed in Galveston Bay Monday.<\/p>\n
The aircraft took off in Mexico and was headed to Galveston when it crashed into the bay.<\/p>\n
Multiple agencies, including the U.S. Coast Guard, Texas DPS, and the Galveston County Sheriff\u2019s Office, responded to the incident Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n
KPRC 2 witnessed a large law enforcement and first responder presence near the base of the causeway bridge in Galveston as authorities responded.<\/p>\n

Monday evening, the Mexican Consulate released the names of the eight people aboard the aircraft, of which five are confirmed dead, one is presumed dead, and two survived. The names come from a briefing the Mexican Consulate received from the Secretary of the Navy.<\/p>\n

Lieutenant S.S.N. Juan Iv\u00e1n Zaragoza Flores.<\/p>\n
Marinero A.N. E. Av. Guadalupe Flores Barranco.<\/p>\n
Missing (presumed deceased):<\/p>\n
Lieutenant A.N. P.A. Luis Enrique Castillo Terrones.<\/p>\n
(So far his body has not been located; however, given the circumstances of the event, it is assumed to be deceased.)<\/p>\n

The King Air ANX 1209 aircraft, which belonged to the Mexican Navy, was conducting a medical support mission as part of \u201cPlan Marina\u201d in coordination with the Michou and Mau Foundation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe aircraft was carrying out a humanitarian mission focused on specialized medical transport, with eight people on board: four naval crew members and four civilians,\u201d the Mexican Navy said.<\/p>\n
