LUBBOCK \u2013 For the second time this season, Texas Tech sophomore Christian Anderson<\/a> is the Big 12 Player of the Week. For the third, he’s a Big 12 Starting Five selection. <\/p>\n

Anderson spearheaded a 17-point comeback for the No. 15 Red Raiders over Duke at Madison Square Garden, scoring 23 of his game-high 27 points in the second half and finishing the game shooting 5-for-9 on 3-pointers. He had provided 14 points and six assists earlier in the week in a win over Northern Colorado. For the week, Anderson averaged 20.5 points, 5.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game and also secured Big 12 Starting Five honors along with teammate LeJuan Watts<\/a>, Tounde Yessoufou (Baylor), Kingston Flemings (Houston) and AJ Dybantsa (BYU). <\/p>\n

He is currently leading the Big 12 and is fourth nationally with 7.3 assists per game while his 19.9 points per game this season ranks sixth in the conference and 37th nationally. Anderson is shooting 40-for-92 (43.5%) on 3-pointers this season, ranking fourth in the conference with 3.3 made per game and in 3-point percentage. An Atlanta, Georgia native in his second season at Tech, Anderson leads the Red Raiders with 11 games scoring in double figures and is coming off his fifth game this season scoring 20 or more points. <\/p>\n

Anderson secured his first Big 12 weekly honor after posting a career-high 34 points and 11 assists in the season-opening win over Lindenwood. Against Duke, Anderson played all 40 minutes for the third time this season and finished the game shooting 9-for-14 from the field. His five 3-pointers marked the fourth time this season he’s made five or more 3s, including a career-high six 3-pointers in a win over New Orleans back in November. The Big 12 Starting Five honor is the third of the season for Anderson who also secured the honor on December 8 and November 10.<\/p>\n

Anderson and the No. 15 Red Raiders will close out non-conference play by hosting Winthrop on Sunday, December 28 at United Supermarkets Arena before opening conference play at home against Oklahoma State on January 3, 2026. <\/p>\n
