A black bear was spotted on Florida Gulf Coast University’s campus by an IT worker as he was leaving for the night.

This was reported Tuesday evening.

Instead of using the dining hall, the bear chose to rummage through the garbage for a late-night snack.

Black bear sightings are extremely common in Florida, especially for this time of year as it is the end of hibernation season, and food supply is needed and abundant.

The FWC reminds Florida residents to stay vigilant in your neighborhoods and to take necessary steps to protect yourself such as securing garbage and not leaving food out.
