The first day is always special. Barça are back from their summer break and this Monday 14 July, Barça 2025/26 got back into action with their first training session of the new season at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
After undergoing the traditional medical tests on Sunday, the players laced up their boots to get back into the routine of daily workouts. Hansi Flick was naturally there to take charge of things, with today being a relatively light session, although the German coach will gradually increase the load in Barcelona before heading off on the Asian tour next week.
36 players
This first session featured the same 36 players who underwent medical tests the day before. All were focused and kitted out in the new training gear for this season, under the blazing sun at the Tito Vilanova training ground. It was the first session as Barça players for Joan Garcia and Roony Bardghji, who trained with the senior squad today. Meanwhile, Ter Stegen worked separately from the group, doing exercises in the gym.
The team has ten days of work ahead at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper before heading to Asia on 24 July. The first stop on the tour will be Japan, with the opening match scheduled for 27 July (7pm JST, 12 noon CEST) against Vissel Kobe.
