Prospects from the Detroit Red Wings’ 2024 draft class have been in the system for more than a year. How did they fare last season? Where are they playing in 2025-26? Glad you asked:

Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, RW (No. 15): This decent-sized physical forward (6-1, 207) with an edge is preparing for his first full season in Grand Rapids. He led Skelleftea AIK in penalty minutes (51) in his lone season in Sweden’s top men’s league. After producing only five goals and 11 points in 42 regular season games, he elevated his game in the playoffs (four goals, six points in 11 games). He made his North American debut with the Griffins late in the season and picked up two goals and an assist in the playoffs. Then he collected four assists in five games with Norway at the World Championship.

Max Plante, C (No. 47): Plante displayed his passing skills as a freshman at Minnesota-Duluth with 19 assists among his 28 points. His season was shortened to 23 games due to an upper-body injury. He had a goal and two assists for the U.S, at the World Junior Championship.

Ondrej Becher, C/LW (No. 80): After a dominant final junior season with Prince George (32 goals, 96 points in 58 games), Becher contributed some offense in his first pro season with the Griffins (10 goals, 20 points in 59 games). He is poised for a bigger role at age 21.

Landon Miller, G (No. 126): One of several goaltenders in Detroit’s system, the 6-4 Miller took a step back during his second season with the OHL Soo Greyhounds (4.07 goals-against average, .877 save percentage), as did the team.

John Whipple, D (No. 144): Left-shooting defenseman (6-1, 194) preparing for his second season at Minnesota after appearing in 29 games as a freshman (no goals, three assists).

Charlie Forslund, LW/RW (No. 176): Big forward (6-4, 212) noted for his wicked shot, Forslund is approaching his first full season with Mora IK in Sweden’s second-highest men’s league (Allsvenskan). He got a little feel for the competition last season with six regular season (one assist) and six playoff games (no points).

Austin Baker, LW (No. 203): Native of White Lake, Mich., is ready for his first season at Michigan State. He produced 10 goals and 31 points in 56 games with Sioux Falls in his one year in the USHL.

Fisher Scott, D (No. 208): Left-shooting defenseman (6-2, 185) heads into his second season at Colorado College after appearing in 34 games as a freshman (three goals, seven assists).
