Blake Krass breaks down the best prop bets to consider on DraftKings Sportsbook for the Week 0 college football slate.

The college football season kicks off this weekend with a fun Week 0 slate. These are the best player prop bets to consider at DraftKings Sportsbook for the first day of the season.

Week 0 Prop Bets

Kansas State vs. Iowa State: Avery Johnson Anytime TD Scorer (+105)

Avery Johnson is taking center stage during the Week Zero slate. Kansas State-Iowa State is the premier game of the Saturday slate in Dublin, Ireland. In his sophomore season, Avery Johnson had incredibly high expectations at quarterback. Will Howard was shown the door in order to allow Johnson to take the QB1 role. Of course, Howard went on to win the national title with Ohio State, only adding to the pressure Johnson is under. He played well in his first season as a starter, but didn’t quite meet expectations. Johnson is a great dual-threat with tremendous running ability.

Along with returning running back Dylan Edwards, this will be one of the more dangerous rushing attacks in the nation. They should heavily utilize the zone read game, particularly in the red zone. Johnson should keep one for himself in this game and find the end zone. He has had seven rushing touchdowns each of the past two seasons, even his freshman season as the backup, and should start the season strong with a rushing touchdown in Dublin.

Kansas vs. Fresno State: Jalon Daniels 40+ Rushing Yards (+115)

Jalon Daniels is ready to put on a show in his final season at Kansas. Daniels is one of the most exciting quarterbacks in the country, with great rushing ability on top of a big arm. In each of his two seasons as a full-time starter, he rushed for over 400 yards and at least six touchdowns. Daniels is taking on Fresno State in the season opener. Fresno State has a new head coach and defensive coordinator, and this will be Kansas’ first game in their newly renovated stadium. This will be a really tough test for the Fresno State defense, and Daniels should punish them by using his legs. Early in the season, with a fresh, healthy body, is when these rushing quarterbacks are the most dangerous. In their Mountain West non-conference game against UNLV last season, Daniels rushed for 65 yards and two touchdowns. Expect a similar performance from Daniels against this season’s Mountain West opponent.

Hawaii vs. Stanford: Nick Cenacle 70+ Receiving Yards (-113)

Nick Cencale is the returning leading receiver in the Mountain West Conference. He had a sensational 2024 campaign, going for over 700 receiving yards and six scores. He is a part of one of the best receiving duos in the group of five conferences, alongside Pofele Ashlock. This is the fourth year under Timmy Chang in Honolulu, and starting quarterback Micah Alejado exploded when he got the chance to play in the final two games for Hawaii last season. This offense should come out of the gates firing on all cylinders. Stanford is one of the worst Power Four teams in the nation, and at home, this is a massive chance for Hawaii to get a signature win. Cenacle had seven catches for 93 yards and a score in the season finale last season, which Alejado started. The two should pick up where they left off, pushing Cenacle over this number.
