Dani Rodriguez has handed Barcelona a boost by arriving for medical tests ahead of the start of pre-season with the club.

The winger only underwent shoulder surgery in May and had expected to be out for several months but appears to be recovering well.

According to Sergi Capdevila, his appearance was something a surprise but the hope is that he could be available again in another month.

He also adds that Rodriguez has been working individually at the Ciutat Esportiva for several weeks now in a bid to make his comeback ahead of schedule.

Rodriguez has also been told that Flick is “counting on him” for next season after being handed a first-team debut by the German coach back in May against Real Valladolid.

The teenager could be a real option for Flick in the coming campaign, particularly if Barcelona aren’t able to add a left winger to the squad in the summer transfer window.
