Design, build quality, handling

The Realme 15 Pro is a curved phone designed to be not just your daily driver, but also your fashion accessory to your personal style. The maker has been headlining this niche for quite some time and it has spawned quite a few interesting experiments, including color-changing panels.

But the Realme 15 Pro is neither dazzling, nor light sensitive. It’s meant to be the “current-season haute-couture” as per Realme, and it is surely stylish.

The Flowing Silver version (ours) features a curved Gorilla Glass 7i at the front, a reinforced metal frame with foam layers for drop resistance, and fiber glass back with a terracotta-like texture and glossy finish.

There is also a Velvet Green model with eco-leather back panel, and Silk Purple one with glass back panel with smooth matte finish.

All models feature one-piece rear panels that include the camera housing.

The Realme 15 Pro is IP68 and IP69 rated for dust and water resistance – it means it can be submerged in water and it can also endure pressurized water jets. The phone also covers several MIL-STD-810 standards for transport shock, high humidity, and more.

Now, let’s explore the Realme 15 Pro up close.

The front packs the 6.8-inch OLED screen that has incredibly thin and even bezels. There is a small punch hole where you can spot the new 50MP selfie camera.

The display is a high-resolution, high refresh rate one, can show over a billion colors, and supports HDR10+ among other niceties.

Below the screen is an optical fingerprint scanner and we have no complaints about its work.

Above the display is the earpiece, which together with its top-facing outlet, doubles as a stereo speaker.

Speaking of the top, there is an IR blaster there.

The other speaker is at the bottom of the phone, next to the USB-C port and the dual-SIM tray.

The back of the Realme has the obvious camera housing with three sticking out rings. The top one has the primary 50MP OIS camera, the middle one is for the 50MP ultrawide snapper, and the last one is, well, just for show. There is nothing in there.

Also on the camera island are two LED flashes – the top one is your usual white one, while the bottom one is orange yellowish. Both act as fill light and should make for natural skin tones in the dark scenes when taking pictures or shooting videos.

Finally, there is an RGB ring LED light around the ultrawide camera – it’s called Pulse Light and has notification purposes. You can choose the color and the flashing style and assign different patterns to, say, calls, alarms, music, camera countdown, battery, Gemini, and more. It’s a cool feature, often left unseen though, as it’s on the back of the Realme 15 Pro.

The Realme 15 Pro measures 162.3 x 76.2 x 7.7 and weighs 187 grams, which is quite impressive given the 7,000mAh battery inside.

The Realme 15 Pro has a stylish build, no two ways about that. It is likable, it’s modern, and it can pass as fashion-inclined, too. But more importantly, the phone is a solid execution, balanced and sturdy, and overall – a well-done job.
