After an abundance of additional injuries lately, the Indiana Fever (19-17) have signed key veteran point guard Odyssey Sims to a third seven-day hardship deal on Sunday as the team’s depth is razor thin as they attempt to secure a spot in the 2025 WNBA Playoffs with just seven games remaining after tonight’s clash vs. the league-leading Minnesota Lynx (29-7) from Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

As Sims is expected to play Sunday night after suffering a right groin ailment on Friday, it will serve as her fifth overall game and most likely her third start with the Fever this season.

In her four games played with Indiana so far, the 13-year veteran and former Baylor national champion has averaged 9.5 points on 41.4% shooting, 32.5% from 3-point territory, and 77.8% from the free throw line to go along with 3.7 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 0.7 steals per game.

While the team has yet to officially release a statement on the signing, Sims’ extended stay allows the team will have crucial depth at the guard position in order to remain competitive while Caitlin Clark makes progress from her right groin injury, which is expected to extend to 15 consecutive games missed.
