No. 1 Nebraska volleyball sweeps No. 6 Stanford, makes splash at AVCA First Serve Showcase

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The No. 1-ranked Nebraska volleyball team swept No. 6 Stanford on Sunday, winning 3-0 in the AVCA First Serve Showcase.

The Huskers won 25-13, 25-19, 25-14 at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln.

As a team, Nebraska had a .385% hitting percentage and held Stanford to a .094% hitting percentage.

Rebekah Allick was the work horse for the Huskers, racking up 11 kills with a .600% hitting percentage and tallying five blocks.

Allie Sczech led the Huskers with 12 kills on 25 swings, while Harper Murray totaled 10 kills.

Bergen Reilly racked up a team-high 36 assists, while Laney Choboy and Olivia Mauch paced the Huskers in digs with 12 apiece.

Stanford was led by Elia Rubin with eight kills, and Ipar Kurt tallied seven kills.

The Huskers will head to Nashville for a two-game road trip against Lipscomb and Kentucky.

Nebraska will play the Bison on Friday at 6 p.m. on ESPN Plus.

The Huskers will play Kentucky in the Broadway Block Party on Sunday at 11 a.m. on ABC.

The Huskers hold a commanding lead in set two, leading the Cardinal 17-13.

Nebraska dominates in set one, beating the Cardinal 25-13.

Rebekah Allick and Harper Murray each had four kills apiece, while Olivia Mauch had five digs.

As a team, the Huskers 17 digs and four blocks. Stanford had eight digs and zero blocks.

Allick got out to a strong start, racking up four kills to give the huskers a 14-10 lead.

Florida got its first win of the season Sunday, defeating Pitt 3-2 (19-25, 25-15, 24-26, 26-24, 15-13).

As a team, the Gators hit .204% from the court, holding the Panthers to a .193% hitting percentage.

Florida dialed it in from the service line, racking up eight aces compared to Pitt’s five.

Jordyn Byrd led the Gators with 23 kills and a .200% hitting percentage.

Alexis Stucky totaled 44 assists for Florida, while Lily Hayes racked up 21 digs.

The Panthers were led by reigning player of the year Olivia Babcock with 25 kills and a .191% hitting percentage.

Brooke Mosher led the Panthers with 44 assists, and Izzy Masten had 18 digs.

The Gators pulled out a win in the fifth set, beating the Panthers 15-13.

The Gators forced a fifth set against the Panthers, pushing back Nebraska’s match with Stanford.
