NHL.com and NHL Network has finally found some love for the Detroit Red Wings in their popular series of lists ranking NHL players.

After snubbing the Lucas Raymond, Moritz Seider, Alex DeBrincat, and Patrick Kane, the NHL Network recently ranked the Top 20 Centers and ranked Detroit captain Dylan Larkin 15th. On Friday, NHL Network named the top 25 players born in this century, and Seider is 17th and Raymond is 11th.

That’s interesting because Raymond didn’t make the NHL.com list of Top 10 Players Under 25, and Seider didn’t make the NHL Network list of Top 20 defensemen. No Red Wings player made the ranking for wingers, although that was expected. The Seider and Raymond omissions raised some eyebrows.

Red Wings Extra

It’s fair to say that the Red Wings are intrigued to see what Dimitri Buchelnikov can do now that he is playing for a better KHL team. He is playing for the famed CSKA team after playing for less heralded KHL teams for the past two season. The early returns: So far, so good. Two goals in two preseason games.
